We are a church that loves to show Jesus' care for those around us. This takes many different forms in the diverse and vibrant communities of Newtown and Erskineville.
The community bike shed is for all your bike fixing and up-keep needs. We also organise donations of repaired bikes to asylum seekers. This free initiative is run by Newtown Erskineville Anglican Church & is open to all. It is on every first and last Saturday of the month between 11am-2pm.
We Belong is a community of adults with intellectual disabilities who come together to enjoy games, food and sharing in the good news of Jesus. It is on fortnightly on Friday nights from 7-9pm.
The community garden runs every Saturday from 11am behind the cottage of Newtown church. You're welcome to stroll through the garden, buy some fresh honey or join the gardeners in cultivating this beautiful space.
Room For Many is an initiative that runs twice a year to collect donations of goods toward the needs of asylum seekers. We consider it a privilege to partner with the Asylum Seekers Centre in Newtown.

Service of Remembrance and Hope
We want to create a space for anyone grieving the loss of a loved one to be comforted in our ‘Services of Remembrance and Hope’. During these services there is a time to remember in the lighting of candles and a time to find hope in song, some prayers and in the gathering together with others travelling a similar journey.
Bereavement Support Group
This support group is for anyone who is grieving the loss of a loved one and would like the support of others who understand.
This group meets at the fig tree in Camperdown Cemetery (189 Church St, Newtown) on the last Friday of every month (10am)
Over the course of the last several months many people have expressed an interest to get involved and make a contribution to the upkeep of the Cemetery – providing expert advice, participating in regular gardening and maintenance activities (e.g. painting, picking up rubbish) or using their skills to support future initiatives.
Junior Jivers is a half hour music and movement group for children under five, meeting every Monday during public school terms in the Erskineville Anglican Church building. It’s a fun session that includes singing, playing instruments, movement, dancing and a story time. Parents and carers join with their children, providing a great opportunity to enjoy singing and dancing together. It's also an opportunity to meet others in our community over morning tea and coffee afterwards.
Kids Club is an after school club for kids within our local community from Kindergarten to Year 5 and includes games, food and an opportunity to share in the good news of Jesus. It runs out of the Newtown church hall until 5pm every Friday of term. Our Kids Club Leaders are well trained, enthusiastic, love to help kids learn about the bible, and are required to have a ‘Working with Children’ check. As part of our safe ministry practice parents are required to register their kids using link below.
Graveyard Youth is a fun and welcoming space where young people in years 6-12 can hang out, have fun, and discuss the big questions in life. We meet at St Stephen's Church in Newtown, from 5-7pm on Fridays during school terms. Cost is $3 per person (max. $6 per family).
