DAY 18
READ READ MATTHEW 22:35-40
Some presents are big and some presents are small. This Christmas you might get something big like a new bike and something small like a chocolate Lindt ball. If God were to ask us for something, what do you think it would be? Maybe that we should give him our Sundays - when we go to church. Maybe we should give him our minds and think about him.
Well, one day, Jesus was asked what God wants most of all from his people. And he gave a huge answer! Jesus replied, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." Wow, that is a lot to ask! God actually wants all of us! Not just our Sundays, not just our minds, but all of us. And he wants us to love him with everything we have. It might sound a little scary to give this much, to give God our everything. But we can trust God because he gave us his everything first. At Christmas, God left heaven to come and be with us in Jesus. And later, he gave up his whole life for us on the cross. So you could say that God loves us so much he gave us the biggest present ever! That's why he wants us to love him back with everything - with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind.
