DAY 19
READ Matthew 2:1-11
Have you ever sat outside and looked up at the night sky? Spending time looking up can make us think about big stuff. I used to spend a lot of time outside at night, just watching the sky. Even now, I’ll walk around the block when the weather is just right. It’s times like that I feel like God gets me to Himself. The night sky makes me want to be quiet and think about God. The wise men (or magi) were not Jewish but knew that God was trying to tell them something important through the night sky. They travelled hundreds of miles because of what they saw. They could do this because they were paying attention to what God was telling them.
When they arrived in Israel, they asked King Herod where to find this “King of the Jews.” Herod had to find out where He would be born. He found out by asking those that knew God’s Word that the Savior would be born in Bethlehem.
Do you know what happened after the wise men saw Jesus? God warned them through a dream not to go back to Herod because he had bad plans. Wow, Thank you God.
