Mental Health Training

Have you ever wondered what the Bible says about mental health and illness? How we can support those who struggle with mental health and create safe spaces for them to flourish? How our church can respond to mental health concerns for those living in marginalised communities and those who have experienced trauma?

On Sunday March 1st, from 12:30-3:30pm, we have booked some excellent training with the team from Anglicare.

Our first session, from 12.30-2pm will focus on mental health – understanding and promoting it, particularly in marginalised communities, and learning how to respond helpfully to mental health concerns. The statistics show that mental illness is a difficult reality for many, especially in our part of Sydney, and this training will help us to continue to build a culture of safety and care at church. (Especially recommended for Connect Group and other leaders.)

Our second session, 2.15pm – 3.30pm will focus on trauma informed care and training, building our church to be a supportive place for all children. It provides practical tools for youth group and kids ministry teams to support emotional regulation, build connection and foster belonging.

It’s free to attend and open to anyone interested, however RSVPs would be helpful in our planning.
