On Sundays, we need people using their gifts of hospitality, administration, musical and technical abilities to make sure Jesus is known and loved.
Our welcoming ministry has always been important. It is even more important now with helping people through the changes in signing in and seating. We'd love your help.
Hospitality is how we display the love of Jesus to every person, new or regular, in church every week. Hospitality requires people at the door saying hello, food to connect over and good coffee.
We continue to need audio people to mix the sound. Our new need is to train up people to manage the video switcher and livestreaming. The system is designed to be easy to use and you don't need to be an expert. Found more below....
Ensure the logistical running of the Sunday service by overseeing volunteers, technical needs and service flow.
Music teams captivate our hearts with the grace of Christ through leading us in worship.
At NEAC we like to care for our community and create spaces where relationships and conversation can grow. We are looking for people who love Jesus and want to share him in these spaces. We also need people who are good at specific tasks (gardening, bike repairs), as well as being hospitable and good at having conversations

Bike Shed helpers meet a need in our community by repairing and providing maintenance of donated bikes to give to Asylum Seekers and others in our community.
Garden helpers connect with the local community by providing various assistance in the garden and by forming meaningful relationships while working alongside others in the garden.
We Belong is a group for adults with intellectual disabilities. We Belong leaders help with the fortnightly program by joining with members in activities, forming genuine friendships and helping members know about Jesus.
Opens a space for parents with children to connect with each other and the church.
Transformation requires people who know how to teach God’s word to adults and children while also listening, praying and asking good questions of life and faith. If you are someone who is gifted in caring for others, teaching others and praying for others, these roles might suit you.
Small Group Leaders open mid-week spaces for pastoral care and transformation through the word and prayerful community.
Assist small group leaders in following up pastoral needs and helping the group to flourish.
Builds kids up so that they know and love Jesus Christ through age-appropriate activities and teaching.
Open up a safe a fun space where kids can learn about Jesus for the first time and put their trust in him.
We love to use our space to connect with people and celebrate the good things that God has given us in life and in Jesus. This requires people to use their creativity, event management skills, musical ability, their joy at starting conversations, advertising and many other gifts.
Jazz is a relaxed event in the St Stephen’s grounds with picnics and Jazz. It needs baristas, welcomers, planners and promotion.
Newtown Festival happens on the NEAC doorstep. It is such a big day we offer our grounds as a place to stop and relax. A BBQ, a jumping castle, some artistic elements and comfy spaces need to be created to welcome people in.
We love to celebrate Jesus’ birthday. We decorate St Stephen’s church, the Erskineville carpark and play carols and tell the story of Emmanuel.
Every summer we like to put on movies to enjoy the time of year and connect with neighbours in January. It requires a bit of set-up and a warm welcome.
Every year we come together as one church family and learn and grow together. It requires some thoughtful planning of catering, social times, decorations and promotions.
Celebrating the death of Jesus is one of our favourite things to do, one way we do this is with a roving performance in the graveyard.
